Gran Caffe L’Aquila was a landmark cafe located on Piazza Duomo in the capital city of the Abruzzo region. In 2007 Gran Caffe L’Aquila won cafe of the year for all of Italy, but was then tragically damaged in the devastating earthquake of 2009 which destroyed the city. In 2012 Italian gelato champion Stephano Biasini met Local award winning restaurateur Riccardo Longo which led to the rebirth of one of Italy’s most beloved cafes in Philadelphia.

Molecola was born in Turin, Italy in 2012 from the idea to create a Cola completely Italian. Using a recipe inspired by a famous book of Piedmontese recipes written in 1854 and in collaboration with a historical Aromatherié from Florence, we have developed a beverage we believe is exceptional: delicious, refreshing…and 100% Italian. The cola was named after the Mole Antonelliana, a famous and much loved building in Turin. The building’s shape also inspired the design on the cans. |
