Classic big-flavored Brazilian dishes like feijoada come out of a small kitchen.
Good Brazilian food means comfort food. Since 1998 Casa, home in Portuguese, has been warming the hearts and the bellies 🙂 of expats in New York. What we all definitely miss living here, are the meals prepared by our moms and their moms, cooked so simply, yet with so much love.
Brasil is a huge country. Its extensive coast line supplies us with delightful seafood dishes like bobo de camarao and moqueca de peixe from the Northeast state of Bahia. The south is the land of the gauchos, our cattle ranchers and barbecue, “churrasco” pit masters. But predominantly, our heritage, a mix of native Brazilians, African descendants and Portuguese colonizers is what made this interesting cuisine so tasty, full of exotic flavors and ingredients.
