Filippo and Philip Frattaroli of Filmark Hospitality Group (behind North End restaurants Lucia, Ducali, and Filippo) trace their roots to East Boston.
They opened gastropub Cunard Tavern there in 2017 on the Jeffries Point site of Filippo’s father’s cabinet-making business. Complete with full bar and roof deck, it quickly became an Eastie favorite.

Cunard Tavern draws its inspiration from the rich nautical history of East Boston’s Shipyard and the countless people whose search of the American Dream began when they landed there. Second only to Ellis Island, East Boston was the port of entry for many immigrants who came to shore in search of opportunity and helped build this great neighborhood.
