Assisted Living Facility
All our accommodations are private apartments to ensure the highest level of privacy and dignity for all our residents.
Our apartments are designed to support residents with memory impairment. Each apartment is furnished and decorated by the resident, resulting in the feel of home with the security of a professional staff. Residents have access to bright and welcoming common spaces, such as a dining room, living room, sun room, arts studio, country kitchen, physical therapy gym and function room. Residents also have access to a vibrant, active independent living community just down the hall.
Assisted Living
We help residents with activities of daily living — from bathing, grooming, and dressing, to managing medications— all in the comfort of a one- or two-bedroom private apartment with bath. 24-hour licensed nursing supervision is always nearby to lend a helping hand. Our goal is to create a comfortable, stimulating environment to help residents achieve their highest possible level of independence.
It makes a difference
We are best known for our caring, experienced staff, who are committed to our mission. RiverWoods Exeter has one of the highest staff-to-resident ratios, which allows our staff to get to know residents in a sincere way, providing a rare and wonderful environment. Our licensed nursing staff provides person-centered care plans for each individual. We also have a full time social services staff to help residents and families with transitions and advocacy. At RiverWoods Exeter, our scheduled nursing hours per resident day are significantly better than industry norms, and our staff retention is similarly strong, ensuring continuity and excellence of care.
Memory Care
All of our apartments within The Lodges are designed to support individuals with memory care needs. Our nursing staff are certified in Alzheimer’s Association® essentialALZ® which enables them to provide creative programs for the memory impaired. Additionally, our nursing leadership are all certified in dementia care and are credentialed Advanced Care Planning Facilitators.
Skilled Nursing
In our Medicare-certified Skilled Nursing facilities, we offer all the same amenities and support provided in Assisted Living, but with a higher staff-to-resident ratio to meet additional acute care needs as well as a full range of physical and occupational therapy, and speech language pathology services. Our staff of compassionate professionals provides a comprehensive personalized care approach to each individual based upon their unique needs.
Retirement Community
The Woods
Our original campus, The Woods, received a fresh new look in 2015. The entrance, Front Desk, and Woods Cafe have been transformed and serve as a bright, welcoming new hub of activity. The art and music rooms, Founder’s Parlor, and other areas have also been updated, and the campus is now WiFi enabled. Circled by long-standing groves and bordering the Exeter River, The Woods has several miles of easily accessible walking trails. The plant room is home to active gardeners, and the woodshop always has several works in progress. The two art studios and the music room are active, and often you can see a group creating Nantucket baskets. Like all three of our campuses- people from all walks of life make this place a vibrant community.
