J Vineyards Pinot Gris The grapes for this Pinot Gris were sourced from cool areas throughout the Russian River Valley growing region, including our estate Cooper Vineyard next to our winery. We hand-harvested whole grape clusters, then transferred them to our French Coquard press. Using a unique, gentle pressing technology, the Coquard minimizes the extraction of harsh components from the skins and seeds of the grapes. This wine is made from free-run juice, fermented in stainless steel tanks and chilled at 60°F. We stirred tank lees weekly. Additionally, we also aged a portion of the blend in neutral French oak barrels. This technique enhanced mouthfeel and added creamy aromatics. |
